What is melleri chameleon?

The Meller's chameleon (also known as the giant one-horned chameleon) is a large species of chameleon native to the eastern and southern regions of Africa. They can grow up to 2 feet in length and weigh over 1 pound, making them one of the largest chameleon species in the world.

Meller's chameleons have a distinctive, elongated nose horn and a wide neck flap that enables them to swallow large prey. They are a greenish-brown color with yellow spots or stripes and blend in well with tree bark and foliage.

In the wild, they inhabit forests and savannas where they feed on insects, birds, and small mammals. They are arboreal and spend most of their time perched in trees.

Meller's chameleons are sometimes kept as pets but require a large enclosure with plenty of climbing opportunities, heat sources, and UVB lighting. They can be temperamental and may not tolerate handling well. They also require a varied diet consisting of insects, vegetables, and fruits.
